Republican State Committee of Delaware
Fall 2009 Internship Description
The Republican State Committee (RSC) of Delaware seeks responsible, motivated, and enthusiastic students to work on a regular basis at its headquarters in Wilmington. Students must have their own transportation. Students may determine the hours and days that they work. The RSC is flexible with scheduling, but does require that the student commit to a regular and consistent internship schedule. Interns will be expected to be available for limited evening and weekend events. This is not a paid internship, but the RSC encourages students to apply the internship toward academic credit requirements if possible.
The internship will present the student with many opportunities in the Republican Party, including meeting state and national leaders and learning politics at the grassroots level. Students will also have the opportunity to “get their foot in the door” on 2010 Delaware campaigns. For students interested in a career in politics or public policy, the internship will offer the opportunity to network with leaders in the Republican Party who can help them advance their career goals.
There are a number of areas of interest that the student may choose to engage in, including but not limited to, grassroots organizing, media relations, research, fundraising and event planning. Interns will also be expected to assist with office tasks such as answering phones and greeting visitors and any other tasks as directed. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
The RSC is particularly interested in students with graphic design and/or media production skills.
Students interested in a fall internship should send a letter of interest and resume, with 2 references to Seth Wimer, Executive Director, at seth@delawaregop.com. You may call 302-651-0260 ext 3 with questions.
